STAFF

State Street Community Church and the Pax Center are led by a wise and loving group of individuals that make up our staff and Leadership team. They are responsible for determining our overall vision and future direction, creating policies to define our values and operating procedures, ensuring the church’s teachings and practices reflect a just and generous Christian witness, and lead the many programs and ministries, among other things.

Nate Loucks
Pastor + Church Planter

Nate Loucks is a pastor at State Street and the President of the Pax Center. In 2009, Nate and a group of friends and family planted State Street in downtown LaPorte. He is a graduate of Bethel College (B.A., M.Min.) and completed the New Kind of Preacher program at Northern Seminary in Lombard, IL.

Nate was appointed a Human Rights Commissioner for the City of LaPorte and serves on the boards of the NWI Food Council, Family Advocates, Inc, and the Singing Co. of LaPorte County. He has been awarded the Spirit of Leadership Award by Leadership LaPorte County, 2017’s Outstanding Young LaPortean by the Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce, and the Ray and Lucy Swanson Award Community Service Award. He is married to Ema and has three children.

Becky Crain
Pastor

Becky Crain joined State Street as the part-time worship leader in 2011. In 2016, she took on a full-time role as associate pastor expanding her role to teaching and discipleship. Becky is a graduate of Lincoln Christian University and Middle Tennessee State University and has earned her MA at Bethel College.

Becky served as a children’s director at a local church for seven years and a full-time teacher for nine years. She is a graduate of Leadership LaPorte County and volunteers at the Pax Center. Becky is married to Joel and has three children.

Jason Clemons
Program Manager

Jason Clemons is the Program Manager of the Pax Center, which includes providing managerial oversight and support of the food pantry, community meals, and the Jackson Street Community Garden. He resides in Rolling Prairie with his wife Kathy and two children. Jason has over 25 years of experience in marketing, management, banking, fundraising, and event planning.

He is a graduate of Leadership LaPorte County where he was given the Robert J. Hiler Award for his service to the community. His passion is to greatly reduce the poverty of hunger in our community through kindhearted, compassionate, loving methods.In his spare time, Jason loves coaching youth baseball and basketball. In addition, serves on the board of directors to the Purdue Extension of LaPorte County.

Julie Secor
Children’s Director

Julie Secor has been at State Street since the beginning. Her heart and passion for helping children understand love and justice have been much of the fuel propelling the church’s vision. She is passionate about helping children engage environments of love, compassion, inclusion, tolerance, and community.

Julie is a Vennard Bible College and William Penn University alum. She is married to Mark and has two adult children.
